Harlem: The Move

It had been a long announced departure.. increasingly passing my time more and more in Brazil than ever before.. the projects, the company etc.. It had to finally happen, moving from my perch in Harlem to ?.... well, allah inshallah I can close on a smaller pied-a-terre somewhere in Brooklyn.

My brother came out to help with the move which had been long procrastinated the entire week I had spent in Manhattan. By my own volition, I could not bring down the Nepalese masks, or the Makonde sculptures, or even the ever so patient Buddha bust that has looked over my bed for many years now. I stared outside the window that overlooked the church with the perching crows in its cornices.

These are the last photos of the apartment. I thank Maite and Wanda much for making my time in Harlem ever so agreeable and wonderful!
